How to Repair the Steel Wheel and Rim

Repairing steel wheel and steel wheel rim is an important part of good wheelmaintenance. And I will give a comprehensive overview of the properprocedures:

Finishapplication: Powder coat involves the application of an electro staticallycharged powder paint that is cured in an oven. Once out of the oven, the steelwheel and steel wheel rim can be returned to service in a relatively shortperiod of time. If solvent or water-based paints are applied to steel wheel andsteel wheel rim, the finish may dry at room temperature or be cured in an oven.Regardless of the type of finish applied to the steel wheel and steel wheel rim,it should be no more than 3.5 mils total thickness on the mounting surfaces asmeasured mid-way between the bolt holes in a minimum of five locations on bothsides of the steel wheel.
Curing: All powder coat steel wheel refinishingsystems use an oven or other heat source to cure the coating. For air-drycoatings, the time required to ensure complete curing of material is at leastthree days. Baking the painted steel wheel and steel wheel rim will speed upcuring time.
